It’s been a crazy week and it’s not even my personal schedule that’s causing most of the drama – it’s my desk job schedule. Things are hugely hectic for me at work right now. I’ve stayed late every night this week, I’m tired, my eyes and head hurt and my exercise routine has suffered. As I’ve mentioned, the woman who usually holds this position is out for the summer on a leave of absence due to an injury.
After just a few weeks filling her shoes, I see that this is not an easy job. Her boss goes non-stop. This week alone he’s traveling to London, Madrid and Rome over the course of three days. And then he’s back in New York for a few days and then off to Korea. And just because he’s in another country doesn’t mean he’s not attending conference calls and scheduling meetings, all of which have to happen through yours truly. He’s built differently than I am, that’s for sure. I can barely keep my eyes open right now, after a full day of working non-stop. I think he might not sleep.
I’m really looking forward to this weekend. My mom and stepdad are visiting for the weekend and staying with Kevin and I. We’re excited to have them. Kevin even installed the air conditioner and everything! I can’t wait to relax and NOT schedule any conference calls.
