I stopped by the Westerly Natural Market in Hells Kitchen on my way to coach an improv group last night so that I could pick up a few sweet things to sample once I got home. I chose yogurt covered pretzels, dark chocolate covered almonds and that strange looking thing on the back of the plate, which is a coconut haystack. Even though I was craving some kind of baked treat, this assortment satisfied my sweet tooth. The coconut haystack was a bit odd at first, but I ended up really liking it. The yogurt pretzels, although unoriginal, were probably my favorite of the group – that sweet and salty mix cannot be beat.
The other two squares of milk chocolate on my plate were from this box.

This yummy bar was a gift Kevin’s parents gave to him from their recent trip to South America. Yes, South America. They are world travelers in the truest sense. (They also generously gave me an adorable leather coin purse that I can’t wait to use.) This bar of Mamuschka, with nuts and caramel inside, is delicious.
I enjoyed my little tasting plate very much. And maybe I had a tiny bowl of last night’s Ben & Jerry’s too. Whatever.
